Keith Duffy completes charity cycle challenge

Boyzone star Keith Duffy has completed a 300 mile (482 kilometre) cycle challenge for charity.

The 38-year-old singer-turned-actor set off on his journey from Malaga, Spain last week and visited areas including Seville and Cadiz before finishing his route in Gibraltar on Monday. The former Coronation Street star entered the race to raise money for autism organisation Hearts and Minds. Taking to his twitter page, the No Matter What singer thanked the local police for escorting his cycling team to the finish line, writing: “A huge thanks to the Gib (Gibraltar) Police for the wonderful welcome and escort to the square, U (you) made the end of a wonderful trip perfect!”

Duffy’s Boyzone bandmate, Ronan Keating, also took to his social networking site to congratulate his good friend, writing: “Congrats (sic) to (Duffy) and all the team for finishing their cycle to Gibraltar for Autism.”

 

The Celebrity Cup : 10-12 May 2013 Celtic Manor Resort, Wales

The Celebrity Cup will see 24 celebrities battle it out over two days representing England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales at Celtic Manor Resort to claim the inaugural Celebrity Cup. Six celebrities will play on each team in a round robin format with each team playing against each other.

 The format will be four ball better ball challenge over nine holes with teams accumulating points from each hole allowing for maximum viewing excitement. The holes will be a composite course of the Montgomerie and the Roman Road courses. The culmination of the event will be on Sunday afternoon when the top two teams from the previous rounds will play off for the title with the prize giving being presented by none other than Ant and Dec alongside the event ambassador Colin Montgomerie.

Keith was involved in this year’s Connemarathon 2013 which took place on 7th April.
